ABOUT
Tanya Anne Brown is a New York based textile and graphic designer. Born and raised on Long Island, a surfer and frequent beach bum, she considers herself an 'island girl’ at heart. She designs under the pseudo name Schatzi Brown & studied Surface & Textile design at NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology.
After a long career teaching Elementary Art in NYC she returned to freelance surface & textile design in 2013. Tanya's passion for the beach, surfing, and travel comes through in her style. Her pattern work is well know for its vibrant colors and whimsical bohemian vibes.
Her work can often be scene in the juniors, swim, surf and fashion apparel industries as well and her licensed work that is available in the home decor industry. Her designs have been sold in Urban Outfitter, Nordstrom's, Wayfair, Bed Bath Beyond, Macy's, Spoonflower Fabrics Walmart and Target Online.
In 2014 Tanya started her own brand of Surf and Yoga wear called Nalu Tribe ®
Still living be the sea on Long Island Tanya is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two lovely daughters
